Awareness as an informational feedback loop built on quantum foundations.
The way we describe reality feels incomplete.
Through mainstream physics we’ve been taught to focus purely on physical processes and to see the universe as a fixed (deterministic), impersonal, mechanical system. Psychology gives us thoughts and feelings but is silent on why matter organizes itself into experience at all. Rarely do the two fields mingle. Yet one of the biggest mysteries today sits right between them: what is consciousness?
The more I’ve lived, the more I’ve come to see it as dynamically branching fields of potential realities. The laws of physics are real and rigid. They accurately predict but they do not tell the entire story.
My Question

That’s where my project comes in. I want to explore whether awareness plays a role in how those possibilities crystallize into lived experience.
I am not claiming that consciousness overrides physics or that we can manifest outcomes by thinking about it (nor am I dismissing this). But, I am asking whether awareness might, over time, nudge our reality in subtle, lawful ways. Tiny biases, multiplied across countless branch points, could accumulate into real, detectable effects. That is the hypothesis I want to test.
A Scaffold To Work With
To explore this, I’ve built a scaffolding of five stages drawn from established theory and information theory. I call it CIR²S for short: Coherence → Information → Resonance → Redundancy → S-Selection→ Together, these states form a filter that determines which branch actually stabilize into an experienced reality.
- Coherence keeps possibilities aligned.
- Information links systems together. The handshake between observer and observed.
- Resonance sustains patterns through feedback loops.
- Redundancy makes outcomes irreversible by copying them everywhere.
- S-Selection (entropy) locks the arrow of time and closes the door behind us.
Where Might Awareness Play A Role?
With the scaffolding I ask where might awareness play a role. I see three natural entry points.
- Setup: Which questions do I open? Which intentions guide me?
- Attention & Timing: When do I act or focus? Could awareness bias outcomes?
- Recognition: When do I accept something as final?
None of these entry points override physics. But tiny nudges in chaotic systems, repeated across countless branches, can accumulate into real effects.
My Working Assumption
Consciousness emerges when physical systems organize themselves into self-sustaining, constraint-bound loops of information processing. It is what it feels like from the inside to be part of those loops.
I have no idea where this project will lead. But, if you have been laid up nights wondering what consciousness is, what role it plays in our physical systems and whether our universe is a deterministic machine or whether we have a role to play, …then follow along.
This is where I test out my theories and build a platform for others to use to do the same.
